The Area

Sheringham North Norfolk is situated on the coast just a few mile west of Cromer. The old fishing town of Sheringham has been a popular holiday destination with people for over 100 years. The area is known as an all year round holiday destination where you can get away and relax from the hustle bustle of every day life. Miles of sweeping coastline with plenty of places to visit and things to do make Sheringham an ideal holiday destination.

Sheringham is a two hour train journey or three hours by car, from London. The town itself is always bustling with plenty of things to do and see. Whatever your interests are, Sheringham boasts a wealth of things to do and see for all the family. Sheringham has safe, clean beaches and sea and has again been awarded an EC Blue flag in recognition of this.

Why not watch the local fishermen landing their catch. If seafood is one of your favorites then you must sample some of the locally caught fish and shell fish. Cromer crabs are famous for being some of the very best you can buy.

For your entertainment why not go to the Little Theatre located in the centre of town, which has a busy all year round program. If you are interested in local history you can visit Sheringham Museum, situated in former Fishermen’s cottages and wash houses close to the theatre. If it’s eating out that takes your fancy why not try Crofters one of Sheringham’s most popular restaurants.

You can take a ride on the steam trains that run on the Poppy Line between Sheringham and the Georgian town of Holt. If you so wish jump off the train at Weybourne station and enjoy a lovely walk through the fine Rhododendrons of Sheringham Park. Once you reach Holt Station you can take a Horse drawn carriage into the town centre.

The area has a wealth of nature reserves and is a popular destination for Ornithologists. Most notably Blakeney Point and Cley marshes

Golfers can enjoy a round of Golf at The Royal Cromer and Sheringham Golf clubs where visiting golfers are welcome.
